To provide enhanced safety, comfort, and control to operators, John Deere has revamped its 350 P-tier and 380 P-tier excavators as a part of its Performance Tiering strategy. The 350 P-tier and 380 P-tier excavators were initially created to deliver exceptional efficiency, comfort, performance, and service life in demanding work environments. Now, these models will continue to do so while providing the necessary power to operate in high-level situations.
"Our goal in enhancing the 350 P-tier and 380 P-tier is to address the needs of operators by creating a comfortable and technologically advanced machine that can make their job easier," said Justin Steger, solutions marketing manager at John Deere Construction & Forestry. "With improved fuel economy and enhanced visibility, these machine benefits will provide operators with higher productivity, increased uptime, and lower daily operating costs."
Both excavators can now be equipped with SmartGrade? technology, and customers can choose from 2D or 3D guidance, 2D SmartGrade Ready Control, and SmartGrade 3D Control. With Overdig Protect, the bucket's cutting edge never goes below the target design surface.
Customers also have the option to implement a right, rear, and left camera system with LED surround lighting. This provides 270-degree visibility integrated directly into the primary display of the cab. The fuel economy of the 350 P-tier and 380 P-tier excavators has also increased 7% compared to previous models. This ultimately reduces daily operating costs for customers.
Outside of the cab, the 350 P-tier and 380 P-tier excavators feature larger hood designs for easy serviceability. Each cooler can also be individually removed for easier access within the compartment.
